Is Azimio leader Raila Odinga headed to the African Union as one of the continental body’s envoys?

A source who confided to this writer on condition of anonymity believes President William Ruto and the Opposition leader have struck a deal that will see the two work together in ensuring the ongoing bipartisan talks, led by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwa succeed.

Just like former President Uhuru did after the March 2018 truce, Mr. Odinga is likely to land a continental assignment role, negotiated by the government of Kenya, the sources note.

”Mama Ida accompanying CS Murkomen to Migori County, and Speaker Moses Wetangula’s meeting with the bipartisan talks committee leadership were some of  very significant events this week,” she said.

The Speaker’s meeting with the bipartisan talks committee which lasted approximately one hour was attended by among others the leader of Majority Kimani Ichungwa, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi and EALA MP Hassan Omar.

On Wednesday, President Ruto held a meeting with opposition  MPs including those who were expelled from the Orange Democratic Movement(ODM).

The president held talks with the seven ODM lawmakers for two hours at State House days after ODM leader Raila Odinga vowed to ensure those expelled lose their seats.

Raila Odinga on Tuesday met with former Mombasa governor Hassan Joho and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed.
