Top Talented Journalist Who Left BBC Job to Join KTN News Finally Quits

Seasoned media personality Fathiya Mohamed Nur bid farewell to her role at KTN Home, a Standard Group-owned station, after dedicating two years to the network.

Expressing her gratitude on Wednesday, Fathiya thanked the management team at KTN for entrusting her with responsibilities and opportunities during her tenure.

She particularly highlighted her achievement of launching her own TV program, “World Report,” which quickly became a flagship show at KTN News.

In her parting message, Fathiya reflected on her time at KTN.

“Time for a brand new story! It’s been almost two years as a News Anchor at KTN News. I’m so, so proud of what I have achieved. Key highlight: Birthing my international news programme, World Report, which is now a flagship show at KTN News! Thanking God for leading me through this journey and onto greater things. Excited for the new chapter.” She wrote.

Interestingly, Fathiya’s journey includes a previous stint at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), where she spent four years before joining KTN. She initially left KTN to pursue opportunities at the BBC in August 2018, only to return to KTN in June 2022.

During her transition from BBC to KTN, Fathiya expressed appreciation for her colleagues at the BBC, acknowledging the support and growth she experienced during her time there.

Fathiya Mohamed Nur’s career trajectory exemplifies her versatility and dedication to journalism. Apart from her roles at KTN and BBC, she has also contributed her expertise to CGTN and K24 TV.
