Comedian Akuku Danger has recently opened up about his near-death experience during his time in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Speaking to the Iko Nini Podcast, he described his perception of death, emphasizing the unexpected tranquility he felt despite his severe condition.
During the podcast, Akuku cautioned viewers, stating that he wasn’t advocating for death but merely sharing his personal perspective.
He expressed that death, based on his experience, was remarkably peaceful.
“I don’t know if I can say I had given up really but when I was in ICU I think dear viewers,” he gave a caution.
“Death is actually peaceful,” he said “not that we advocating for it, no, no no, don’t get it wrong, I’m just trying to give my perception. But I think death is very peaceful. Bro nilifika place fulani it was just total darkness.”
He recounted being in a place of total darkness while in the ICU, where he felt weightless, floating alone.
“In that moment, there was no noise, no one around; it was just me floating in darkness. There was a single, bright star I could see. You feel like you’re just chilling there. It was actually peaceful,” he described.
Akuku went on to explain his belief that when a person dies, memories and experiences are erased, allowing the individual to return to a peaceful state.
“That’s why ukikufa, things get deleted, so that you are peaceful, your mind is at peace, the way you came is the way you go back. That’s how the Bible says it.”
“It doesn’t matter if you are a politician, all those get erased unarudi ukiwa clean slate. I think that is the closest I’ve ever come to death,” he added.
He referenced biblical concepts, suggesting that regardless of one’s status in life, everyone returns in a clean slate.
He candidly shared that this experience was the closest he had ever come to death.
The comedian has been open about his battle with sickle cell anemia, a condition he shares with his late sister Briana, who tragically lost her life to the same disease.
In August, Akuku announced the passing of his sister on social media, expressing his grief and acknowledging the challenges they both faced due to sickle cell anemia.
Despite these struggles, Akuku Danger continues to share his story, inspiring others with his resilience and offering a unique perspective on life, death, and the peace that may await beyond.
