The Jubilee Party is stepping up efforts to rebuild its grassroots structures in the Mt Kenya region as it positions itself ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The party is set to begin a series of regional engagements aimed at rejuvenating its branches and political networks while rallying aspiring candidates seeking to run for elective positions on the Jubilee ticket.
Jubilee Secretary-General Moitalel Ole Kenta has invited the party’s Mt Kenya aspirants to a strategic meeting with the party’s 2027 flagbearer Dr Fred Matiang’i and other party officials on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
The meeting will be held at the Jumuia Conference Centre in Limuru from 8am to 1pm.
The engagement is expected to give the party an opportunity to assess the strength of its grassroots structures, engage aspirants and discuss strategies for rebuilding Jubilee’s political presence in the region.
The move comes as political parties intensify efforts to consolidate support networks and recruit candidates ahead of the 2027 elections, with Mt Kenya emerging as a key player.
Matiang’i’s involvement is also likely to draw attention to Jubilee’s wider strategy as the party seeks to reassert itself in a region where Rigathi Gachagua’s DCP is trying to ringfence other parties.
The Limuru meeting will bring together aspirants seeking Jubilee nominations for various elective positions across the Mt Kenya region, alongside party officials.
It is expected to set the tone for a broader series of regional meetings targeting party branches, grassroots networks and potential candidates.
