Orengo Endorses Faith Odhiambo for Nairobi Woman Rep, Dispelling Senate Speculation

Siaya Governor James Orengo has officially endorsed former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo for the Nairobi Woman Representative seat, putting an end to widespread political speculation that she was angling for the Nairobi Senate position.
The declaration marks a major political milestone following Faith Odhiambo’s official entry into the Linda Mwananchi movement, a rising opposition faction shaking up capital city politics.
In a public statement issued via Facebook, Orengo warmly welcomed the high-profile human rights advocate, characterizing her decision to venture into competitive politics as a strategic and monumental win for alternative leadership.
Orengo praised Odhiambo as a “proven defender of justice” and highlighted her joining the Linda Mwananchi movement as a “monumental win for women’s leadership”.
While analysts previously tipped her for the Senate, Orengo confirmed her focus on the Woman Representative race, calling her an “incorruptible voice” needed in Nairobi.
Odhiambo’s entry into politics with the Linda Mwananchi movement is considered a boost for the group’s appeal among younger demographics.
Following her debut at the Linda Mwananchi rally in Thika, she has launched grassroots efforts in Nairobi with support from progressive leaders.
