Shock as Lady pays more than 200K at Thika School of Medical and Health Sciences, only to realize the course isn’t accredited upon completion

A lady on TikTok has shared a horrifying story about how a decision she made in good faith slowly turned into a painful lesson.

She explained that in September 2023, she joined a private college, Thika School of Medical and Health Sciences that's located in Thika town, with high hopes of pursuing a Diploma in Radiography.

Like many students, she was driven by passion and the dream of building a career in the medical field.

At first, everything seemed normal. She attended classes, studied hard, and looked forward to graduating in 2026.

Her family supported her fully, paying school fees amounting to about KES 65,000 per semester.

But along the way, something didn’t feel right.

It was only later that she discovered the shocking truth: the institution was not accredited to offer the course she had been studying. The realization hit hard. All the time, effort, and money invested suddenly felt uncertain

What made it worse was that this wasn’t an isolated case. She revealed that some students had already graduated from the same program but were unable to obtain licenses, effectively blocking them from working in hospitals.

Her parents, like many others, are now frustrated and confused, unsure of what steps to take next after investing years of their resources. For the student, the emotional toll has been overwhelming, as she now questions where to begin again.

She admits that she regrets not doing enough research before enrolling. Although she had considered other institutions like KMTC, competition and circumstances led her to choose what seemed like a viable alternative at the timee.

Now, she is speaking out, not just to share her experience, but to warn others.

Her message is clear: before joining any college, especially private institutions, take time to verify accreditation and ensure the course you are pursuing is recognized.

When reached for comment, the institution declined to respond. During an open inquiry about the issue, they hung up the phone, and subsequent calls went unanswered.
