Sisenye Villa pip Migingo FC to win Osiya Cup Bunyala edition

Reigning regional giants Sisenye Villa FC emerged as the inaugural champions of the newly launched Osiya Super Cup Bunyala edition after cruising past Migingo FC 2–0 in the final.
The clash kicked off at a blistering pace, with both sides creating early openings but failing to make them count.
Migingo threatened first in the 7th minute when they earned a free kick just outside the box.
Elisha Bravine stepped up, but his low drive was comfortably cleared by the composed Sisenye Villa backline led by Jacob Agile.
Sisenye Villa responded quickly, and in the 14th minute, Yassin Sijy broke the deadlock, latching onto a neat pass from the flank, before slipping the ball past goalkeeper Dennis Ogutu to put his side ahead.
Migingo pushed forward in search of an equalizer, winning another dangerous free kick in the 21st minute after sustained pressure.
Kelvin Wekesa’s curling effort, however, sailed just over the bar, brushing the roof of the net to the relief of the Sisenye Villa goalkeeper.
Ten minutes before the break, Yassin Sije, already on the scoresheet, extended Sisenye Villa’s lead with a well-taken finish.
The tournament’s leading scorer showed great composure inside the box, controlling the ball before firing past the stranded Migingo custodian to make it 2–0 putting Villa firmly in command
Migingo FC started the second half on a brighter note, creating several promising chances, but they failed to capitalize. Their missed opportunities proved costly as the match ended 2–0 at full time.
For their win, Sisenye Villa pocketed the grand prize of Sh300,000, while Migingo FC walked away with Sh200,000 as the runners-up.
In the third-place playoff, Bukoma City secured a 2–0 victory over Obaro FC, earning Sh100,000, with Obaro settling for Sh50,000.
Speaking after the tournament, Osiya applauded the tournament grassroots organizer Emiliano Okotsi for championing sports development at the community level, noting that such initiatives play a vital role in identifying and nurturing young talent.
He further assured the residents that, once elected governor, he would prioritize the improvement of sports facilities across the county, beginning with an upgrade of the Lunyofu grounds, which hosted the day’s final.
FKF NEC Member Caleb Amwayi, who represented Football Kenya Federation President Hussein Mohammed, echoed Osiya’s words, saying such tournaments have played a key role in shaping Kenyan football by offering a platform for budding players to showcase their skills.
He noted that the region has already produced football bigwigs such as former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama, Ulinzi Stars midfielder Boniface Muchiri, and ex-Inter Milan star McDonald Mariga, all of whom hail from the area.
