MC B. Gathuba Man, a beloved figure on Kameme FM, bid farewell to listeners on Tuesday, March 26, marking the end of a remarkable 10-year journey with the station.

Known for his infectious energy, vibrant personality, and deep connection with his audience, Gathuba Man, whose real name is Brian Gathuba, leaves behind a legacy of memorable moments and heartfelt interactions.

In a message shared on his Facebook account, Gathuba Man expressed his gratitude for the decade-long opportunity he had at Kameme FM. He reminisced about his humble beginnings as a young and inexperienced producer, expressing appreciation for the support and guidance he received along the way.

“Today was my last day at Kameme, I am truly grateful for the opportunity I have had over the past 10 years. I joined Kameme as a young, naive producer who had no idea what the future held for him,” he wrote on his Facebook account.

He added: “I am proud to say today that I have not undermined any opportunity that has ever come my way, no matter how small it was, I gave it my all.”

Throughout his tenure, Gathuba Man made a lasting impact on the airwaves, captivating audiences with his eclectic mix of reggae and mugithi music, engaging commentary, and infectious enthusiasm.

Born and raised in Ndemu village, Kiambu County, Gathuba Man’s journey to success was shaped by his passion for the entertainment industry.

Despite initial resistance from his parents, who favored a teaching career for him, Gathuba Man pursued his dreams relentlessly.

He attended Kambaa and Bathi primary schools before graduating from Kijabe Boys High School with a respectable grade in his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

Undeterred by obstacles, Gathuba Man defied expectations and enrolled at Nairobi Aviation College as a journalism student. It was there that he honed his skills and laid the foundation for his future career in broadcasting.
