Journalist Rita Tinina passed away due to severe pneumonia, as revealed by the autopsy conducted on her body.
Speaking at Umash Funeral Home, family spokesperson Timothy Njaga expressed satisfaction with the results.
“We came here to witness the autopsy, which was conducted by Dr. Ndegwa and our family pathologist. We have been informed that the late Rita passed away due to severe pneumonia,” he said.
Njaga mentioned that the examination was performed by government pathologist Peter Ndegwa in the presence of the family’s pathologist.
He also emphasized the family’s need for privacy and space during this time.
“We must remember that there is a family that has been affected,” Njaga said.
“We appreciate journalists for their kind words for our sister and friend.”
Some of the journalists present during the procedure included the President of the Kenya Editors Guild, Zubeida Kananu, and the Chairman of the Kenya Parliamentary Journalists Association, Duncan Khaemba, among others.
Rita Tinina was found deceased on Sunday in her home in Kileleshwa.
