Kenyan promoters, DJs, and artists based in America are organizing a grand farewell party in Los Angeles to bid farewell to the esteemed entertainer and ambassador, Thomas Kwaka, widely recognized as Big Ted.
Since his appointment to the ambassadorial role in April 2022 by former President Uhuru Kenyatta, Big Ted has played a pivotal role in elevating Kenyan culture and music onto the global platform, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.
As Big Ted prepares to pass the torch, making room for the former Chief Executive Officer of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Ezra Chiloba, to step into the ambassadorial position, the Kenyan diaspora is gearing up to bid him a fitting farewell.
Ahead of the highly anticipated event set to be hosted at Kultur Lounge in Los Angeles, US-based Kenyan nurse Judy Maina, better known as Mom Teiyan or Nurse Judy KE, took to her IG page to share the anticipated events that are set to shake the streets of Los Angeles.
“We have a big party going down, celebrating Big Ted. He has been amazing; if you know Big Ted, he has been a people’s person. He has done a lot for us Kenyans and Africans as a whole; he has united many people,” Nurse Judy said.
“We intend to make Big Ted’s farewell a big, fun, and unforgettable experience for this man as he deserves,” she added, encouraging attendees to secure their tickets early for the event scheduled on April 13, 2024.
Macarena Moh, a renowned events promoter, also joined in rallying the community on her Instagram page, urging everyone to come together in giving Ambassador Big Ted a heartfelt send-off.
