Minority Leader in the National Assembly Opiyo Wanday has warned Interior PS Dr. Raymond Omollo of dire consequences if he continues daring the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to a political duel in Luo Nyanza.
Speaking on Friday in Migori County during the burial of County ODM Chairman Phillip Makabongo, Wandayi, also the Ugenya MP described ODM as a government in its own right and that anyone going against the party ”sees it for themselves.”
” Let me caution the PS for Interior…we don’t want nonsense. ODM is a government in its own right. You dare ODM, you see it for yourself. Nobody ever dares ODM and survives,” Wandayi said.
”If you are in government use your position to help your people, not to persecute and kill them,” he added.
President Ruto’s UDA Party has intensified its political activities in Luo Nyanza in the past few weeks, an Opposition stronghold. PS Omollo is seen as the Head of State’s point man in the region bankrolling UDA activities in Homa Bay, Migori, and Kisumu Counties.
Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda, Lang’ata MP Felix Odiwuor Jalang’o, Suba MP Caroli Omondi, Bondo MP Gideon Ochanda, and Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo are some of ODM MPs currently working with President Ruto against the party’s wish.
