A middle-aged man has been left in shock after making an online purchase and receiving a completely different product from what he ordered and paid for.
Through the X platform, the man, known as Rotimi77, shared his ordeal, attaching screenshots of his conversations with the seller who claimed to deal in electronic products, including phones and tablets.
He decided to purchase a tablet and went ahead to make the payment. However, upon receiving the package, he discovered a completely different item packaged in a box resembling a computer – to his dismay, it turned out to be an inflatable mattress.
“I am deeply hurt ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ’”💔. I ordered a laptop from this guy, and yesterday I went to the mall to pick it up from PEP. I almost lost my cool in front of people at the PEP Store when I felt the softness of the mattress inside the package ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ’”,” he lamented.
This is not the first incident of people complaining online about buying items and receiving completely different products. Urban areas, in particular, have become hotspots for such incidents, as many embrace digital buying and selling without realizing that scammers have infiltrated these platforms.
Many sympathized with the man, urging him to share the scammer’s contact details so that they could publicly confront and expose the fraudster.
