Itumbi Breaks Silence After Kawira Mwangaza Family Allegations

“Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi has broken his silence, stating that he never visited the key suspect in the murder of blogger and political activist Daniel Muthiani, alias Snipper, in jail, contrary to the allegations made by the Meru Governor’s family.

Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza and First Gentleman Murega Baichu had alleged that Itumbi visited the key suspect, Vincent Mureithi Kirimi, alias Supuu, at Muthaiga Police Station, where he is currently detained alongside the governor’s brother, Tai.

Vincent Mureithi Kirimi and Murangiri Kenneth Guantai were arraigned before the High Court in Kiambu on charges related to Snipper’s murder. In response to the accusations against him, Itumbi took to Facebook to set the record straight, stating unequivocally that he never visited Supuu and has no reason to do so.

The murder of Snipper, who went missing on the night of December 2, 2023, only to be found dead on December 16 in Tharaka Nithi, has sent shockwaves through the nation.

Itumbi, in his statement, expressed his commitment to justice and shared that he possesses audio evidence that could contribute to the ongoing investigations.

The allegations against Itumbi arose during a press conference held by Governor Mwangaza and First Gentleman Baichu at their official residence in Meru.

They not only demanded that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) make public the findings linking Tai, the governor’s brother, to the murder but also claimed that Itumbi visited the prime suspect, Supuu, at the police station.

In response to the allegations, Itumbi sought to address the questions posed by the governor’s family. “Why did you visit Supuu – The main suspect in the station? I did not. I have no reason to,” he asserted. This clear denial contradicts the family’s claims and introduces a layer of complexity to an already intricate case.
