In Baringo County, the local authorities are currently in pursuit of a man, Alex Kisale, who stands accused of a horrifying crime – the alleged murder of his two-year-old daughter and the subsequent burning of her remains in an attempt to conceal the evidence.

The motive behind this heinous act, as revealed in the ongoing investigation, is shockingly trivial. Kisale claims that his young daughter had inadvertently ruined his chances of marrying a lawyer he had fallen in love with.

The child’s mother, 18-year-old Winnie Cherono, tearfully recounted the heart-wrenching events that unfolded over the past two months, ultimately leading to her daughter’s disappearance.

The nightmare began on August 21, 2023, when Winnie visited Kisale in Sesoi village, Baringo North. During this visit, Kisale requested to keep their two-year-old daughter for a period of two days. However, when Winnie called Kisale the following morning to check on her daughter’s well-being, she received a shocking revelation. Kisale informed her that he had taken their child to his sister’s house.

Fearing for her daughter’s safety, Winnie’s frantic attempts to retrieve her child proved futile, leaving her with no option but to involve the police.

Subsequently, Kisale, who works as a pharmacist, was apprehended on September 27 and presented before the Kabarnet Court on October 2. Surprisingly, he was granted bail. However, the situation took a dark turn when the suspect failed to appear in court on October 9, as required, to produce the missing two-year-old as per the court’s order.

Currently, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has reportedly found what are believed to be the remains of the minor. These remains were discovered discarded in Saimo Soi Forest, awaiting further examination in a post-mortem procedure.

The grieving family is demanding justice and the immediate arrest of the suspect, who remains at large.
