Bonchari MP Aspirant Douglas Ogari Praises President Ruto’s Development Tour in Gusii Region
Bonchari Constituency Member of Parliament aspirant Douglas Ogari has expressed his gratitude to President William Ruto for his four-day maiden tour of the Gusii region, during which the Head of State launched several development projects aimed at benefiting residents of Nyamira and Kisii counties.
Ogari noted that the visit marked a significant step in advancing development in the region that would go a long way in improving infrastructure and service delivery, urging leaders and residents alike to support their successful implementation for the benefit of the wider Gusii region.
The youthful aspirant also commended the 450 million shilling Suneka Market project, as well as key road projects including the Kerina–Sagate Road and the Kebuse–Nyagweka Road.
“Thank you, Mr. President, and it is our joy to welcome you again. Mheshimiwa Rais, karibu tena. The issue of the airstrip had been initiated by the previous regime, but you have revived it. You have also constructed the modern Suneka Market, which greatly supports women traders. The two roads—Kerina–Sagate and Kebuse–Nyagweka—have long troubled residents, and you have committed to complete and commission them when you return.”
Mr. Ogari further appealed for the establishment of a Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) in the constituency to enhance the training of medical professionals and strengthen the delivery of universal healthcare. He also called for a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution to equip young people with practical skills, thereby improving employability through technical training and industry partnerships.
He assured the President of unwavering support from the people of Bonchari and the broader Gusii community.
“Tunakushukuru kwa kuja, sio Bonchari tu lakini Gusii nzima. Tunasema asante sana kwa kuja Kisii na Nyamira kwa maneno ya maendeleo. Sisi kama viongozi tuko na wewe.”
Mr. Ogari also acknowledged the efforts of Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu Ogamba, Governor Simba Arati, and National Assembly Chief Whip Silvanus Osoro, commending their role in advancing development projects in Bonchari Constituency, especially during the absence of the sitting Member of Parliament, who is reportedly on leave abroad.
“Tunataka kushukuru hawa viongozi, Education CS Ezekiel Machogu Ogamba, Governor Simba Arati, and Chief Whip Silvanus Osoro, for championing the development agenda in Bonchari. As you all know, our MP went for a long Christmas vacation overseas, and these leaders have been working to push the constituency forward.”
He concluded by expressing confidence that continued cooperation among leaders would keep the region on the right track and ensure balanced development across constituencies.
