Gospel artist Christina Shusho, a Tanzanian citizen, has revealed the reasons for getting married at the age of 19.
The renowned singer of the song “Shusha Nyavu” spoke about her mother’s concerns due to her striking beauty, which led her to rush into marriage.
She had just completed her secondary education.
“I got married at the age of 19, very young. After finishing Form Four, I was exceptionally beautiful, and my mother feared that I could be led astray and bring shame to the family,” Shusho explained.
Shusho mentioned that she was more beautiful back then than she is now.
“Now, I’m older, don’t tell me I’m beautiful; I was incredibly beautiful. So, when this man approached my mother showing interest in me, she agreed out of fear. Indeed, I was very beautiful.”
In another interview, Christina Shusho discussed her decision to remove her wedding ring and separate from her husband, Pastor John Shusho.
In the interview, the famous artist associated her actions with her commitment to her calling for ministry.
She revealed that she had visions she was determined to fulfill, leading to the peaceful dissolution of her marriage.
“I have always been honest and truthful. The truth is, it’s just a calling. Nothing else has changed. The work that God gave me at this time required me to leave where I was. I had to leave to fulfill the mission,” she openly disclosed.
Shusho also clarified that she does not hold the title of pastor and expressed dissatisfaction with being labeled as such.
