A mother has revealed that she is taking her 12-year-old daughter out of school to focus on her career as an emerging influencer.

According to the Daily Mail, Kat Clark, a 37-year-old mother from Australia, has 5.2 million followers on TikTok and was selected as the Content Creator of the Year at the platform’s annual awards in 2022.

The mother of two, who hosts the popular Aussie podcast ‘Basically Besties’ with her daughters Latisha, 20, and Deja, 12, reportedly has strict parenting rules.

Clark explained in a recent podcast episode, “Traditional school worked [for Deja] in primary school because I had a fellowship job. Since I entered this new profession, there are a lot of journeys involved. I often travel by plane to Sydney.”

“Deja is even starting to get opportunities now, so from 9 to 3, Monday to Friday, school doesn’t work for us because we’ve found that we have to take her out of school a bit.”

Clark shared that she has enrolled Deja in homeschooling for the upcoming year. “We think it’s better for her because we just don’t want her to miss out on these opportunities. TikTok takes up a lot of time. It’s what works for our family.”

The mother claimed that it was the ‘right time’ because Deja can still return to school a year later if she doesn’t enjoy this lifestyle.
