The Ministry of Health has reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating HIV, TB, and Malaria from Kenya through a strategic partnership with the Global Fund. In a joint meeting chaired by the Principal Secretary of the State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, key stakeholders came together to discuss the progress and future plans for this vital collaboration.

The Global Fund has long been recognized as a crucial ally in Kenya’s relentless battle against these life-threatening diseases, while also bolstering the Resilient and Sustainable Systems for Health (RSSH) within the country. This collaborative effort aims not only to combat these diseases but also to strengthen the healthcare system to provide better overall health services to Kenyans.

Today’s meeting, which included representatives from the Global Fund Country Team, the National Treasury, and the Ministry of Health, focused on addressing a range of issues associated with the ongoing mission visit by the Global Fund. Key topics of discussion included fund allocation, counterpart finance budget, pending financial commitments, and the seamless integration of Global Fund-supported personnel into the Ministry of Health’s framework.

”Our ministry stands steadfast in its commitment to ensure that every dollar from Global Fund grants is administered with the utmost accountability and efficiency,” MOH said in a statement.

The Ministry of Health emphasized its unwavering commitment to transparency and efficient resource management. Every dollar received from Global Fund grants is administered with the utmost accountability and prudence. Stringent monitoring and management mechanisms have been put in place to ensure that these resources are used effectively, fostering trust and nurturing a lasting partnership.

By joining forces with the Global Fund, Kenya is taking significant strides toward ending the epidemics of HIV, TB, and Malaria, while simultaneously building a resilient healthcare system for a healthier future.
