In a heartwarming display of friendship and gratitude, Naomi Wairimu Ogutu, the President of NYC Rideshare Club and a prominent entrepreneur based in New York, surprised her dear friend, Amakove Wala, the Wanderlust Founder, with a special gesture to commemorate the years of their cherished friendship.
Their journey together began with a serendipitous encounter in the fall of 2022 when Amakove was planning a trip to New York City and Yale University in Connecticut with her daughter.
Moved by fate, Naomi stumbled upon Amakove’s post and extended a helping hand by offering transportation to Connecticut.
Little did they know, this seemingly simple act of kindness would lay the foundation for a bond that transcends mere friendship, evolving into a sisterly connection.
Reflecting on their adventures together, Naomi took to her Facebook page to express her deep affection for Amakove.
Recounting the moments they shared, from laughter-filled chats to midnight quests for Jamaican cuisine in New Haven, their bond grew stronger with each passing day.
“We met, we chatted, we laughed, we did group tours together, we went to look for Jamaican food at midnight in New Haven Ct, got hit on by some ruggedly Jamaican men, we sailed on a boat to the Statue of Liberty, I slaughtered her a whole goat in my house, our children bonded,” Naomi wrote.
Naomi also fondly recalled the remarkable synergy they shared in their endeavors, particularly highlighting the fruitful business connections they forged together.
With admiration and gratitude, she reminisced about how their collaboration led to tangible success, emphasizing, “WE MADE BUSINESS CONNECTIONS (I made $10k in 3 days courtesy of Amakove)!”
In a gesture of appreciation, Naomi presented Amakove with her favorite bottle of whiskey on this special occasion, aptly dubbed “Furahi Day.”
