Following the tragic death of TikTok sensation Brian Chira, Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a, founder of Neno Evangelism, has delivered a stern warning to Kenya’s TikTok community.

Ng’ang’a expressed deep concern over what he described as the excessive noise and lack of proper guidance on the social media platform.

In a video circulating online, the controversial clergyman admonished TikTok users, accusing them of talking too much and behaving like “crazy people.”

“Hii TikTok imeharibu. You talk too much. Like crazy people. You are the cursed generation. Look how you are dying, look how you are drowning in the water,” Ng’ang’a said.

He went on to say that the death of young people should not be a cause for celebration.

“And you are all going to attend the funeral of one of your own. Do you think God took him away? God doesn’t take young people. Where do you think God would take such a young child? To be with Moses, Aaron or Elijah in heaven? That’s the devil destroying you,” Ng’ang’a said.

Ng’ang’a’s remarks were echoed by TikTok celebrity Nyako, who highlighted the potential dangers lurking on the platform. Nyako, known for her viral content, cautioned users about the risks of falling prey to deceptive offers disguised as monetary rewards.

The warnings from Ng’ang’a and Nyako come in the wake of Brian Chira’s recent burial, which has sparked widespread debate and criticism. Chira, a popular TikToker, was laid to rest in Githunguri, Kiambu County, amidst dramatic scenes.

Chira’s family expressed disappointment at the behavior of TikTokers during the burial, describing it as disruptive and disrespectful. Despite concerns about Chira’s lifestyle while alive, the family had hoped for a peaceful send-off, which was marred by the chaotic conduct of the content creators.

The disruptive behavior of TikTokers at Chira’s burial has raised questions about the influence of social media on the younger generation and the need for responsible use of online platforms.
