A mother, travelling with her baby from Nairobi to Ukambani, experienced every parent’s worst nightmare.

After dozing off during the journey, she awoke to a heart-wrenching discovery – her seven-month-old baby, Briana Mutanu Kanini, was missing.

The distressing turn of events occurred on the morning of February 29, according to reports from Missing Child Kenya.

The mother boarded a matatu at Nairobi’s Country Bus Station, bound for Mutitu wa Ndoooa via Mwingi – Kitui.

However, her journey took a horrifying turn when she realized her baby was no longer with her.

Fellow passengers recalled seeing an unidentified woman disembark from the matatu at the Magogoni area along the Thika-Garissa Highway, carrying the baby.

In a swift response, the distraught mother immediately reported the incident to Magogoni Police Station, initiating a search for the missing infant.

Authorities have since intensified efforts to locate Briana, urging the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the search.
