Just moments after a man, believed to be an acquaintance of Jowie Irungu, posted incriminating information hours following the announcement of his death sentence, it has come to light that his Instagram account has been deactivated.

The man, pictured standing behind Jowie in an undisclosed location, shared a damning message on his Instagram page before he deleted it immediately.

His caption, directed at Jowie, read: “@Jowie Irungu official f***ck man… If you ever get a chance to see this…How much did it cost for you to carry someone cross to your grave??…they promised you they will get you out??,”

The statement continued, urging Jowie to come clean: “Confess the truth man!! You can still appeal this sentence… please tell the world the truth…you know who did it??… don’t take this to the grave with you.”

The post, which quickly garnered attention on social media, raises questions about the circumstances surrounding Jowie Irungu’s conviction and subsequent sentencing.

Many online users have speculated on the implications of the deleted Instagram account and the cryptic message shared by the unidentified individual.

This is what Kenyans had to say;

Collins; These people behind Jowie Irungu case MUST be very Powerful, Influential and Dangerous. Maybe they have threatened Irungu’s kids or parents thus as a gentleman he has decided to SACRIFICE his own life & FREEDOM for those he loves.

Andrew Barak; There is more than what we know… May truth illuminate itself in the midst of half truths and billion lies

Rada safi; Hii stori inaenda tu kama ile ya saitoti na ojonde. Wenye waifahamu wanakufa nayo. Ukifungua mdomo uanaisha wewe na lineage yako yote

Everton Ken; Jowie never killed the lady 10 minutes is so short for one to subdue, tie up someone, go fetch a knife, slit her throat with precision and then put the body in a bathtub and walk out with just a small stain on the short

Jowie was sentenced to death after he was found guilty of the 2018 murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.

Delivering the verdict on Wednesday, High Court judge Grace Nzioka ruled that the horrific murder of Monica Kimani was “intentional.”

“It was not a defensive act. It was not out of provocation. It was planned, intended and executed,” ruled Justice Nzioka.

“Based on what I have said, I have ordered that the first accused before this court, Joseph Kuria Irungu alias Jowie, shall suffer death as provided for the offence of murder under section 204 of the penal code of Kenya. That is the order of the court.”

in delivering the death sentence, the judge cited the consequence of the offence to the family of the deceased stating: “In this case, it is undisputed that the deceased was the Managing Director of the family business in South Sudan.”

“It is undisputed that the business collapsed after her demise and that it was the source of income for the family and we can all appreciate the natural and probable consequence of that,” noted the judge.

She further noted that the mother of the deceased suffered depression and a stroke and that she has hardly healed following the death of her daughter.
