A dispute has erupted between the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and Premier League club Murang’a Seal over the eligibility of Hussein Mohammed to represent the club at the upcoming FKF Annual General Meeting (AGM).

In response to the club’s request, the federation stated that after a thorough review of the registration documents and other pertinent details, Mohammed was found to be ineligible to represent the club. According to FKF’s constitution and regulations, Mohammed’s status did not meet the requirements for representation.

“Following a comprehensive review of the registration documents and other details thereof regarding Murang’a Seal submitted in compliance with Articles L02 and L03 of the FKF Club Licensing Regulations and Articles 54 and 55 of the CAF men’s club licensing regulations (2022) attached for your reference, we would like to inform you that Hussein Mohammed is nor registered with FKF as a member of Murang’a Seal or FKF general, by Article 11 of the FKF constitution (2017)and Article 8.1.4 of the FKF regulations governing Kenyan football (2019),” the federation said in a letter.

In response, Mohammed’s representative criticized FKF’s decision, arguing that the federation lacked the authority to dictate club representation at the AGM.

They questioned the ability of Macharia to represent both the county and the club, asserting Mohammed’s status as a duly registered official.

“Macharia serves as the chairman of FKF Murang’a County. How can he represent both the county and the club?” the official questioned, adding: “Additionally, if Murang’a was registered by Macharia, they possess the registration certificate, and Hussein (Mohammed) is a duly registered official. FKF has no authority to dictate club representation at the AGM.”
