Popular Kenyan singer and entrepreneur Esther Akoth, better known as Akothee, has opened up about the tumultuous impact her former partner Denis ‘Omosh’ Schweizer had on her relationship with her sister, Cebbie Koks.

In a candid live session on her TikTok page, Akothee disclosed how Omosh’s actions nearly drove a wedge between her and her blood sister.

Akothee recounted how Omosh incessantly fed her negative narratives, alleging that Cebbie would discuss and compare their lifestyles behind her back.

This manipulation reached a point where Akothee developed a deep-seated resentment towards her sister.

“This guy totally broke me. He made me despise my sister so much that if I had encountered her at that time, it might have resulted in a catastrophe… This guy would constantly feed me information, claiming my sister did this or that, questioning why we couldn’t be more like her,” Akothee lamented.

The strain on Akothee’s relationship with her sister was particularly acute as Cebbie was in the midst of preparing for her wedding to city lawyer Steve Ogolla at the time.

In an earlier live session, the mother of five confirmed that she had  walked out of her short-lived marriage back in June, when she and Omosh were on honeymoon.

“I have moved on from it. It does not exist anymore. I want to tell you that I walked out of that relationship back in June. I will, however, not go into details,” Akothee said.

“I did enjoy my marriage; I enjoyed my wedding. I don’t regret anything. I did my wedding on my birthday, just in case things went wrong, as they have done, I would not have any regrets.”

The 43-year-old musician hinted that she left her marriage when they were enjoying their honeymoon after learning a couple of things that she did not know before.

“I walked out of the relationship back in June. I normally walk out of my relationships while I am still in them. When we were on honeymoon, I found out some things that I could not cope with. Then he asked me, “Will you leave me?” I said, “No, honey, I love you”. When I was leaving Switzerland in July, at the airport, he asked me, “Will you leave me?, I said “No, honey, I love you”. But for sure, I had already left,” Akothee narrated.
