South Keiyo Member of Parliament, Mr. Gideon Kimaiyo, on Wednesday reposted an online video of singer Millicent Jepkorir, popularly known as Marakwet Daughter, pleading with him to marry her.

In the video, which has been widely circulated on social media, the singer of the hit song ‘Mali Safi Chito’ was heard expressing her affection for the politician while indicating her readiness to become his wife.

The singer urged Mr. Kimaiyo to take action, announcing that she is waiting for him to take her off the market.

“Come and take me off the market, South Keiyo Member of Parliament, Gideon Kimaiyo, I’m waiting for you, babe,” Marakwet Daughter was heard saying.

She pointed out that the first-term MP does not have a wife as she is still waiting for him.

“It’s you, it’s me. Come and give me a kiss. Babe, come, I want to go to parliament with you,” she said.

However, Marakwet Daughter quickly changed her statement and expressed her willingness to settle down at home, engage in farming of crops and livestock while the MP continues his work in Nairobi.

Nevertheless, she warned the politician against seeking other girls in Nairobi if they were to get married, stating that she would always be waiting for him at home.

“Come, baby, come, if you refuse, I will come for you. Haven’t you seen me?” she said.

Responding to the singer’s request on the X social media platform, the South Keiyo MP said, “Wow, this has gone too far.”

Numerous internet users have expressed mixed reactions to Mr. Kimaiyo’s response.

Sereti Tonkei wrote, “Honorable, let’s have a wedding.”

The MP replied, “Let her impress me first.”

Here are some comments from other internet users:

Saleem: Honorable, they are just throwing themselves at you.

Boniface G. Mwangiu: Wow! Help her like you help with schools. Take her off the market.

Daniel Lairuka Sindani: Act quickly, don’t let this opportunity slip away.

Steph’ Gunte: Honorable, don’t let such a good offer slip away. Opportunities like these don’t come often.
