Restoring the Heart of a Nation: The Nairobi–Mombasa Walk Enters Day 6

By SM EK

In a time when the world is grappling with the silent crises facing men and the widening cracks in communities, a remarkable movement has risen from the streets of Nairobi — a walk of courage, compassion, and conviction.

Six days ago, from the steps of KICC through Ashaki Garden Square, a team led by Bishop Dr. William Tuimising, EBS, set out on a historic 480-kilometre Nairobi–Mombasa Walk, a journey with one unshakable message:

No man should go down. No man should give up. Every man can rise again — and finish well.

Walking alongside Bishop Tuimising is Rev. Steve Amos, HSC, the Founder of Strong Men Factory, a movement dedicated to rebuilding men spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and socially. Together, these two leaders are amplifying a call that echoes across generations: restore the man, restore the family, restore the nation.

Why This Walk Matters

The Nairobi–Mombasa Walk is not a marathon for fitness. It is not a spectacle for crowds.

It is a national appeal to confront a crisis many prefer to ignore:

• Men silently breaking under emotional weight,

• Men losing identity and purpose,

• Men walking through life unseen, unheard, and unsupported.

The walk gives language to their struggle.

It gives visibility to their pain.

It gives dignity to their journey.

And above all, it gives hope.

Each kilometre represents one man restored — a symbolic commitment to reach and transform 480 men, one step at a time. As the walkers push forward through heat, fatigue, and challenging terrain, they carry the stories of men who have been forgotten, abandoned, or overwhelmed — reminding the nation that restoration is possible.

A Dual Mission of Compassion

While the restoration of men is at the centre of this campaign, the walk is also raising funds for a pressing humanitarian cause: transforming Sasura Girls School in Marsabit County, where 250 students study under severe hardship.

The school has only a few classrooms and suffers from acute water scarcity — each girl receiving just 20 litres of water for three days.

The goal is clear:

• Drill a sustainable borehole

• Improve sanitation

• Renovate classrooms

• Elevate the dignity and learning conditions of the girls

As the team walks south toward Mombasa, the hearts of these girls in the far north beat with expectation.

Strong Men Factory: Rebuilding the Backbone of Society

Under the leadership of Rev. Steve Amos, HSC, Strong Men Factory is reshaping how society views and supports men. The initiative addresses the issues many avoid — identity collapse, mental health, emotional wounds, addictions, and silent suffering.

The message is simple yet profound:

Broken men break families.

Restored men restore nations.

The Nairobi–Mombasa Walk is therefore more than a journey — it is a movement, a turning point, a call to rebuild the man so that generations may stand again.

A Nation Invited to Walk Along

Kenyans from across the country — fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, churches, corporates, and communities — are invited to join, share, support, or walk segments of the journey.

This is not a walk for a few.

It is a walk for all of us.

A walk for the soul of the nation.

A walk for men who need strength.

A walk for girls who need water.

A walk for hope that refuses to die.

A Journey of Hope, A Call to Action

From Nairobi’s bustling streets to Mombasa’s coastal horizon, every footstep declares a simple truth:

What we start, we must finish.

What must be done, must be done.

And no man is beyond restoration.

As Day 6 draws to a close, the walkers continue forward — tired bodies, steady hearts, unwavering resolve.

This is Kenya rising.

This is manhood redeemed.

This is hope in motion.
