Pastor Ng'ang'a reacts to a video showing Sonko confronting his son-in-law, reveals why he was wrong

Controversial preacher Pastor James Ng'ang'a has reacted to a viral video showing former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko confronting his son-in-law after an alleged domestic violence incident involving his daughter.

In the viral video shared on Sonko’s social media platforms, he is seen rushing to his daughter’s home in the early hours of Sunday morning after she called her mother asking for help.

"I’m not okay… I just asked for breakfast and I’ve been slapped twice. I didn’t have money and I’ve been telling him the kids are hungry," Sonko’s daughter tells her mother in the recorded audio.

Upon arrival, Sonko is seen confronting his son-in-law before one of his bodyguards intervenes by slapping the man — a move that angered Sonko, who repeatedly ordered his security team to refrain from causing unnecessary violence.

During the exchange, Sonko is heard saying that he had supported the family in many ways, including paying their rent, paying school fees for the children, and even buying them a Range Rover.

After the confrontation, Sonko left the house with his daughter, instructing the son-in-law to follow them with his parents so they could find an amicable solution.

While reacting to the melee, Pastor Ng’ang’a criticised Sonko’s approach, saying they were not supposed to assault the son-in-law. He added that he would have handled the matter privately.

"Hiyo ni too much. Ata kama wewe ni tajiri, msichana wako atazaa watoto, na hii wound umeweka kwa huyo son-in-law itaenea na itazidi kuenea katika kizazi chake."

"Tena, baba ya msichana na mama ya msichana, don’t go deeper kwa maneno yao. Na kama utaenda deeper, do it privately."
