Bonchari MP aspirant Douglas Ogari urges Ruto to establish KMTC and TVET in the constituency

Bonchari Member of Parliament aspirant Douglas Ogari has called on President William Ruto to prioritize key development projects in the area, including the establishment of a Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution, as well as empowerment programs targeting boda boda riders and women.

Speaking during President Ruto’s four-day development tour, Ogari said that the establishment of these institutions would help equip individuals with practical, market-driven skills, bridging the gap between education and employment while encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation.

"Bonchari Constituency is the only constituency without a KMTC. Bonchari Constituency is the only constituency without a TVET. Ni aibu, si aibu?” he posed as residents cheered.

At the same time, the youthful aspirant praised the President for his initiative to establish a market structure in Suneka and to build a brand-new airport that would meet the people’s desire to use air travel.

"Mheshimiwa Rais, niko na maneno matatu ya kuzungumza kwa haraka. Kabla nianze, nakushukuru kwa airstrip na market. Kina mama wa Suneka walikuwa wamenituma kwako; wamenyeshewa sana wakifanya biashara. Boda boda walikuwa wamenituma kwako; wamenyeshewa sana wakifanya biashara. Umewajengea modern market, ahsante sana.”

He also took the opportunity to criticize the current Member of Parliament, Charles Onchoke, accusing him of abandoning key development projects in the area.

During the President’s four-day tour in the region, he was accompanied by his deputy, Kithure Kindiki, and several other leaders from the Gusii region, led by Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo and Kisii Governor Simba Arati.

During the meeting, the Head of State promised a new stadium for Nyamira County worth KSh 950 million, in addition to a similar amount that has been allocated for the upgrade of Gusii Stadium.

The President also launched a KSh 700 million rehabilitation and expansion programme for the Kisii water supply system.

He said an additional KSh 350 million will be invested to solarise the 80km water pipeline, lowering costs and ensuring affordable water for residents.
