Journalist Stephen Letoo has responded to online critics directing arrows at him for marrying only one wife, contrary to their expectations that he would marry multiple wives.

Letoo insists that the “chairman” should not be attacked by those who failed to attend his wedding.

Speaking  before embarking on his honeymoon journey with his wife, he emphasized that he would remain the “chairman of men in polygamous marriages and those who are not present.”

“I have seen many complaining about why it turned out this way… First of all, all those making noise on social media will be suspended immediately. It is not right to attack the chairman, considering that they did not attend the event, which took place at Ole Ntimama Stadium, Narok,” Letoo said.

The journalist did not hide his joy at how the whole event unfolded.

He said he was surprised by the number of people who turned up at his wedding.

He added that in his plans, he expected only 10,000 people to attend, but it turned out differently.

“I was surprised by the turnout; I had prepared space for only 10,000 people in the tents. When I arrived at the stadium, I was amazed to see it filled with a crowd. I was happy to see how people showed up, but I also felt embarrassed for allocating such a small space for a few people,” he said, while praising his fans for turning up to witness the unique wedding.

During the entire wedding ceremony, photos were circulated on online platforms, with some people, including men, claiming that the journalist was misleading men with his statements about polygamous marriages while on the other hand failing to fulfill the promise he had made.

Nevertheless, he remains steadfast, saying he will continue to defend the interests of men as before.

Letoo tied the knot with his longtime partner, Irene Renoi, in a grand wedding ceremony at Ole Ntimama Stadium on April 20, 2024.

The wedding was attended by several prominent figures, including politicians and his fellow journalists.
