Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has spoken out in response to Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino’s call for investigations into the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Chief of Defence Forces Francis Ogolla and nine other military officers.

Babu Owino raised several questions regarding the circumstances surrounding the crash, prompting Sudi to urge for maturity and sensitivity in handling the situation.

In a statement addressing Babu Owino’s inquiries, Sudi emphasized the importance of refraining from politicizing tragedies such as accidents.

”However much you are a politician, please do not politicise everything even misfortunes like accidents. Grow up and be sensitive to Kenyans and the families that lost their loved ones,” Sudi Wrote.

He called for a respectful and considerate approach, especially towards the families who lost their loved ones in the incident. Sudi highlighted the need to await the findings of the official investigation before drawing conclusions.

”We’ve lost many people through accidents either by air or by road, do not be too quick to conclude. Give the investigators time to tell us what really happened.” Sudi added.

Expressing his personal acquaintance with General Francis Ogolla, Sudi described him as a mature, wise, and calm individual who deserves respect even in death.

He debunked claims of leadership wrangles within the military, asserting that there was no contest in succession and that Ogolla would have peacefully completed his term.

Sudi also addressed concerns about the ranks of the military personnel involved in the flight, stating that they were of the same level as those who accompany the President.

”There was no leadership wrangles in the military, there was no contest in succession. Gen. Ogolla would have clearly finish up his term and retire peacefully. FYI why would someone be interested in influencing the leadership of the military yet the same person has Presidency at hand? ” He questioned the logic behind allegations of leadership influence when the Presidency holds ultimate authority.

Ultimately, Sudi emphasized the magnitude of the loss suffered by the nation and urged for compassion and empathy during this mourning period.

He urged Babu Owino and others to refrain from trivializing the incident and to show solidarity with the families and friends of the fallen officers.
