Renowned Kenyan news anchor Swaleh Mdoe has broken his silence months after his alleged suspension from Citizen TV.

A highly placed source at the Dennis Pritt Road-based media house told Kenyans.co.ke that the news anchor was suspended after skipping a 1:00 pm bulletin on Tuesday, January 23.

Since then, Mdoe has not appeared on air.

While resurfacing in a heartfelt address broadcast on Citizen Digital, Swaleh extended warm greetings to his fellow Muslim brethren, marking the commencement of Ramadan with a profound call to introspection and reconciliation.

“Ramadan is a holy month for Muslims to repent their sins and get closer to God. It is also a time to forgive those who have wronged us, both Muslims and non-Muslims. Personally, I am also forgiving those who have wronged me, and I am also asking for forgiveness to those who believe I may have wronged them,” he said.

Acknowledging the rumors surrounding his suspension, Swaleh chose to address the situation with grace and dignity, directing his focus toward the essence of Ramadan’s teachings.

With humility and conviction, he urged individuals to embrace forgiveness, extending it both to those who may have wronged them and to those they may have wronged in return.

“Let us not allow resentment to fester within our hearts,” he urged, his words carrying a sense of profound empathy. “Instead, let us open our hearts to forgiveness and understanding, embodying the true spirit of Ramadan.”
