Jane Chemutai Goin, a prominent figure at Citizen TV, is preparing to bid farewell to the media powerhouse, according to credible sources.

Reports from Kenyans.co.ke indicate that the seasoned political reporter has already submitted her resignation and is slated to depart at the onset of March.

Insiders familiar with the matter have disclosed that Goin will transition into a new role as the principal media relations officer at the office of the National Assembly Speaker, Moses Wetangula. News of her impending departure emerged on Monday, February 12, with insider accounts hinting at her anticipation of assuming a high-profile position.

Despite attempts to reach Goin for confirmation on the day of the initial reports, communication endeavors proved futile as she remained unreachable, declining to respond to calls or messages.

Subsequent inquiries made two days later, through anonymous sources, corroborated the information, confirming her ongoing notice period.

With close to a decade of experience in the media industry, Goin’s journey commenced as an intern at KTN, progressively ascending through various roles within the media landscape.

She has graced the platforms of Capital FM, Media Max (the parent company of K24 TV), and eventually found her place within Royal Media Services.

Goin’s expertise as a political correspondent has been instrumental, particularly evident in her comprehensive coverage of the 2017 and 2022 General Elections, fluently switching between English and Kiswahili. Additionally, she has contributed significantly as a writer on political and health-related topics for the Citizen Digital platform under Royal Media Services.

Throughout her illustrious career, Goin has earned commendations and accolades, including a notable Presidential Award bestowed upon her during Kenya’s Madaraka Day celebrations on June 1, 2020.

Her impending departure from Citizen TV marks a significant loss for the RMS-owned network, following the exits of other notable personalities such as Sam Ogina, Francis Gachuri, and Raquel Muigai.

Notably, Gachuri made a departure from Citizen TV in March of the preceding year to undertake the role of Head of Communications within the Ministry of Interior, serving under Cabinet Secretary Professor Kithure Kindiki.
