Kibera-based singer Stevo Simple Boy has triggered an outpouring of consolation messages from fans online after posting a broken heart emoji on his Instagram account.
Speculation is rife that the Freshi Barida artist is grappling with heartbreak following rumors that his wife, Grace Atieno, is expecting another man’s child.
The couple, who publicly announced their relationship earlier this year at the funeral service of Stevo’s late father, Antony Adera, has not been seen together publicly for some time. Reports suggest that Grace resides in the village while Stevo continues his endeavors in Nairobi.
In the midst of these speculations, Stevo shared a series of crying emojis on his Instagram, igniting concern and sympathy from his followers.
During the funeral service earlier this year, Stevo introduced Grace as his wife, stating, “Bwana asifiwe, kwa majina ni Stephen Otieno. Mimi ni kitinda mimba wa Antony Adera na nimetembea na mke wangu (Praise God, my name is Stephen Otieno. I am Antony Adera’s last born, and I am here with my wife).”
Grace, however, appeared too emotional to address the mourners.
In a subsequent interview with Mungai Eve, Stevo shed light on his relationship, emphasizing the qualities that attracted him to Grace. He compared her to his ex-girlfriend, Pritty Vishy, and highlighted Grace’s humility and tolerance as decisive factors in his choice.
While some Kenyans have offered words of comfort to Stevo, others have taken the opportunity to caution him about matters of love and advise against seeking attention through personal struggles.
