Gospel singer Owen Mwaita, more widely recognized as Daddy Owen, has found himself at the center of speculation and online chatter following reports suggesting a close relationship with Charlene Ruto, the third-born child of Kenyan Deputy President William Ruto.

The rumored connection has ignited a storm of curiosity and excitement, with fans and online users buzzing about the alleged relationship.

The reports claim that Daddy Owen conducted an introductory ceremony on December 23, 2023, in Eshifiru, Kakamega County.

This ceremony reportedly introduced Charlene Ruto to Owen’s surviving parent, Margaret Mwatia, given that Daddy Owen lost his father in 2017.

Despite various sources confirming the ceremony, Daddy Owen has chosen to remain tight-lipped about the nature of his relationship with Charlene.

In a recent statement addressing the rumors, Daddy Owen adopted a laid-back approach, urging people not to delve too deeply into his personal affairs

. “Let’s not go there, I understand people are inquisitive. I have been in this industry for 20 years, so I get it. But that doesn’t mean every time I am spotted with someone, it means something is going on,” he explained.

This isn’t the first time questions have arisen about Daddy Owen’s relationship with Charlene Ruto. In November 2023, when confronted with similar queries, Daddy Owen asserted that he and Charlene were good close friends, engaging primarily in charity projects together.

Despite his clear denial of a romantic involvement, sightings of the two at various events have only fueled the speculation further.

Daddy Owen, known for hits like “Wewe ni Mungu,” “Mbona,” and “Vanity,” has faced personal challenges, including heartbreak, in recent years.

His ex-wife, Faridah Wambui, reportedly left the marriage in 2020 due to financial challenges faced by Daddy Owen.
