Radio Jambo’s morning show host, Gidi Ogidi, has praised Kenya’s popular band, Sauti Sol, for their grand concert held over the weekend.

On Saturday, the band, consisting of four artists – Bien-Aime Baraza, Savara, Willis Austin Chimano, and Fancy Fingers – delivered an electrifying performance at the Sol Fest event in Uhuru Gardens. It is reported that they had an audience of approximately 15,000 fans.

Gidi did the math after the show and realized that the four singers might have generated more than Ksh 67 million from the event, which drew a large crowd.

“Sauti Sol’s concert was reported to have had 15,000 attendees. They were charging Ksh 4,500. I did the calculations; they collected Ksh 67.5 million,” Gidi wrote on his social media pages.

The talented presenter accompanied his statement with pictures of his calculations to illustrate the amount Sauti Sol amassed.

He also noted that he only calculated the amount the four-member band could have earned from the fans’ concert, without considering the VIP show.

“I haven’t counted the VIP section. This is good money. Hard work pays off. Congratulations, Sauti Sol,” he wrote.

Bien, Savara, Chimano, and Fancy Fingers performed alongside Nviri and Bensol at the concert held at Uhuru Gardens on Saturday evening. All tickets, priced at Sh 4,500, had already been sold before the event date, and there were no tickets available at the gate.

After the show, the band revealed that approximately 15,000 fans attended the concert and thanked them for their immense support.

“To our amazing fans, our undying love and voice! We thank you so much for 20 years of unwavering support. Thank you for making @solfestafrica the premier festival in East Africa! 🌟 As we take a short break, remember, Sol Fest continues to live because of you. Keep an eye out for what’s next!” Sauti Sol said.
