On Friday, Bongo Flava stars Juma Jux and Ommy Dimpoz narrowly escaped death after the car they were in was involved in a serious road accident.

In a statement posted on his Instagram account, the singer of the hit song ‘Enjoy’ revealed that the accident occurred as he was traveling from Kizimkazi to Nungwi Rocks on the island of Zanzibar. The accident happened on the same day that marked his birthday.

However, he said that fortunately, everyone in the car is okay except for one child who was rushed to the hospital.

“TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY, AND I HAVE SURVIVED A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT WHILE WITH OMMY DIMPOZ, EN ROUTE FROM KIZIMKAZI – ZANZIBAR TO NUNGWI – KENDWA ROCKS FOR OUR SATURDAY FULLMOON ALL WHITE PARTY!” Juma Jux said in the statement.

He added, “I THANK GOD MY PEOPLE AND MY ENTIRE TEAM ARE SAFE, ONLY ONE CHILD WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL, BUT BY THE GRACE OF GOD, I BELIEVE THEY WILL BE SAFE! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾”

To confirm the incident, he shared videos of the white Range Rover involved in the accident, which appeared to be severely damaged, especially on one side.

The musician revealed this news while mourning the Tanzanian singer Haitham Kim, who passed away on Friday afternoon.

Kim, who had recently been receiving special medical treatment for respiratory problems, passed away at Temeke Referral Hospital in Dar es Salaam at around six o’clock on Friday evening.

He left behind a partner and one child.

His death occurred just a few days after Bongo artists initiated a fundraising campaign for his expensive medical treatment.

It was reported that the late singer had respiratory problems that initially started as a common cold but later escalated to a critical condition where he struggled to breathe, leading to his hospitalization.

Fans, friends, family members, and close associates have continued to mourn the singer and songwriter. Many Bongo artists, including Nandy, Zuchu, Kajala Masanja, Hamisa Mobetto, and Wema Sepetu, among others, have also expressed their condolences for the loss of the talented artist and single mother.
