Kenyan-born author, entrepreneur and certified coach Anne Awuor Matoke has announced the availability of her book, Life After Loss — Finding Light in the Shadows, in the Kenyan market, bringing her personal story of love, grief and renewed purpose closer to home.
Readers can now purchase copies at Nuria, Tai and Kibanga bookstores, marking a meaningful milestone for an author whose journey began in Nairobi’s Kariobangi estate and took her to Dubai and later the United States.
Announcing the news, Matoke described the book’s arrival in Kenya as a deeply personal homecoming.
“For those who may not know, I am a proud Kenyan by birth, and no matter where life has taken me around the world, my roots will always hold a special place in my heart,” she said.
“A book born from love. Written through grief. Carried by purpose. And now finding its way into the hands of readers in my homeland.”
Drawing on her experience of losing her husband and rebuilding her life, Life After Loss — Finding Light in the Shadows offers readers reflections on navigating grief while remaining open to hope, growth and new beginnings.
For Matoke, sharing her story goes beyond publishing a book. It is about honouring a promise, preserving a legacy and encouraging people facing their own difficult chapters.
“It was about honoring a promise, preserving a legacy, and reminding others that even after life’s darkest chapters, there can still be light,” she said.
The book’s availability locally gives Kenyan readers an opportunity to engage with a story rooted in personal experience and shaped by the challenges of finding purpose after loss.
Matoke is inviting readers to share what resonates with them, ask questions and explore the conversations the book inspires.
To celebrate its arrival, she plans to select readers in Kenya to receive surprise gifts during the first week of December, her birthday month.
Readers are encouraged to read the book, share their reflections or reach out with questions.
“I simply want to hear from you and celebrate the meaningful connections this book creates,” she said.
Matoke also acknowledged those who helped bring the book to the Kenyan market, thanking Deborah Auko for introducing her to Mecie K Michira to facilitate local printing.
The milestone builds on her work in personal development. A former Emirates Flight Purser, Matoke previously volunteered in peer support and critical incident stress management, supporting colleagues through challenging experiences. She recently graduated with distinction as a SUCCESS Certified Coach™, with a focus on health, wellness and mindset.
With Life After Loss — Finding Light in the Shadows now available in Kenya, Matoke is bringing that message of hope home and inviting readers to reflect on the possibilities that can emerge after loss.
Copies are available at Nuria, Tai and Kibanga bookstores.
