Controversial preacher Pastor Victor Kanyari has talked about the infamous ‘mbegu ya 310’ saga.

Kanyari, known for his controversial practices, shed light on the issue during a live session on TikTok, maintaining his innocence amidst accusations of swindling congregants.

During the broadcast, Kanyari clarified that he never coerced or forced anyone to send him money, despite the public outcry over his offering demands.

He emphasized that while he did suggest the KSh 310 offering, individuals made the decision to send it of their own volition.

Addressing his followers, Kanyari expressed dismay at those who willingly sent money despite their awareness of the controversy surrounding his ministry.

He questioned how individuals could consciously choose to participate in what they perceived as a “scam,” despite having the autonomy to refrain from doing so.

“You cannot say I got rich because of asking for 310. I used to ask 310, and did I force anyone to send it? I was just saying on TV, and there is no one I held a gun against and told from today this is a gun, give me 310,” Kanyari stated, defending his actions.

Furthermore, Kanyari expressed bewilderment at the willingness of some individuals to send money despite the absence of coercion.

He emphasized that no one had stolen from them and questioned the logic behind their decisions to comply with his requests.

“Who stole from you? Nobody stole from you,” Kanyari reiterated, highlighting his perspective on the matter and refuting accusations of fraudulent behavior.

Early January, Kanyari said that his call for financial contributions through the Panda Mbegu Initiative from followers was driven by a desperate desire to escape poverty rather than the promise of miracles.

Speaking at his Salvation Healing Ministry church in Nairobi, Kanyari candidly confessed that his plea for Sh310 from his followers was not rooted in a quest for divine miracles but was, in fact, a means for him to alleviate his financial struggles.

“Mimi ndio nilikuwa mhubiri anaongea Nairobi, hakukua na mwingine. Kina Ezekiel na Ng’ang’a hawakuwa, mimi ndio nilikuwa naongea hii town. Lakini sikuwa na pesa, ndio maana nikaanza kuitisha Sh310. Nikasema panda mbegu ya 310 na tusibishanebishane. Si kutaka kwangu, umaskini ulikuwa umenitandika sawasawa,” confessed Kanyari.

(I was the preacher speaking in Nairobi; there was no one else. Ezekiel and Ng’ang’a were not there; I was the most influential pastor in this town. But I didn’t have money, that’s why I started asking for Sh310. I said, sow a seed of 310, and let’s not argue about it. It wasn’t because I wanted to; poverty had overwhelmed me completely.)
