The tragic death of Brian Chira has left his family and community in shock and mourning, as they grapple with unanswered questions surrounding the circumstances of his demise.

Brian’s grandmother, in an emotional outpouring during his funeral, spoke for the first time about her grandson’s untimely passing, igniting a fervent quest for justice.

On the fateful night of March 16, Brian Chira found himself outside an entertainment joint in Kiambu county, seeking assistance from a passerby.

According to an eyewitness account, Brian, in need of help, was offered a lift on a boda boda.

However, tragedy struck when, upon reaching his destination and disembarking, Brian was struck by a speeding vehicle.

The witness described the vehicle as a white canter, alleging that both the boda boda rider and the driver fled the scene, leaving Brian critically injured.

The delay in the release of Brian’s postmortem results added fuel to the fire of suspicion.

Brian’s grandmother revealed that the results took longer than expected to surface, sparking concerns of potential foul play or hidden truths.

“Niliambiwa na askari Brian aligongwa na gari akakuwa na internal bleeding lakini hiyo postmoterm results ilikaa sana before it was released (I was told by the police that Brian was hit by a car and had internal bleeding, but the postmortem results took a long time before they were released),” he said.

The elderly grandma said she was convinced someone was behind her grandson’s death.

“Nilipewa. Sikusoma. Kuna kitu inafichwa siambiwi ukweli. Lakini nimesikia kuna mtu anafanya uchunguzi hadi wamejua nani aliua Chira. Sijui nani aliua Brian na hata kama ni accident huyo mtu alimgonga na gari anafaa kushikwa (I was given the results and I didn’t interpret them. Something is being hidden, the truth is not being told. But I’ve heard that someone is investigating until they find out who killed Chira. I don’t know who killed Brian. Even if it was an accident, the person who hit him should be arrested),” she said.
