Former Presidential aspirant Jimi Wanjigi has delivered a candid message to President William Ruto, shedding light on the hardships faced by Kenyan citizens due to the current unforgiving economic climate.

Addressing the audience at the Foundation Stone laying ceremony of the ACK St. James Cathedral in Kiambu town, an event graced by Ruto himself, Wanjigi fearlessly voiced the concerns of countless Kenyans who find themselves grappling with financial distress.

With unwavering candor, he remarked, “The problem of everyone present here today is that things are tough for them on the ground. There is no money, and the president should be aware of the true state of affairs.”

Recalling his past visit to Kiambu, Wanjigi juxtaposed the vitality he once witnessed with the current downtrodden appearance of the people. He underscored the disheartening absence of genuine contentment, even in the presence of the nation’s leader.

Wanjigi’s words carried a weight that resonated deeply, as he highlighted the pressing challenges confronting the populace.

He emphasized, “Most of the people you see here sleep with pangas under their pillows, not because they fear burglars targeting their possessions, but because they are safeguarding their sustenance.”
