Tragedy struck in Kakamega County when a pregnant woman from Lwatingu village had an unexpected and horrifying experience.
In a shocking incident that left the community in disbelief, the woman claimed that she unknowingly dropped her child into a pit latrine while trying to relieve herself.
The incident came to light when a video of the distressed woman was seen by The Star. In the video, she tearfully explained that she had not realized it was her due date when she went to the latrine.
It was during this unsuspecting moment that she gave birth unexpectedly, and tragically, the baby fell into the pit latrine.
The mother of three further revealed that she had started experiencing labor pains around 3 am that day.
Sensing the urgency of the situation, she immediately asked her husband to arrange for a motorbike to take her to the hospital. However, her husband’s delay in seeking transportation meant that crucial time was lost.

It was only later that the woman’s husband noticed something amiss. He realized that his wife no longer appeared pregnant, which raised his suspicion.
Upon discovering bloodstains in the latrine, he sought help from their neighbors to inquire about the baby’s whereabouts.
The situation quickly attracted attention, and concerned residents and police gathered at the pit latrine to initiate rescue operations.
