Former Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter Reveals Details of Interrogation Following Dramatic Arrest

On Monday, July 1, former Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter unveiled the specifics of his interrogation following his dramatic arrest on Sunday.

Speaking to the press after his appearance at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters, Keter disclosed that the police were particularly interested in his relationships with former President Uhuru Kenyatta and current Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Keter, accompanied by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and a team of lawyers, recounted the probing questions he faced during his detention.

“When I was arrested, one of the questions that I was asked was about my relationship with former President Uhuru Kenyatta and my relationship with the current deputy president… and issues to do with arms from Congo. Do not intimidate us into silence,” Keter stated firmly.

The former MP suggested that his arrest, along with the arrests of other government critics, was a strategic move by President William Ruto’s administration to suppress dissenting voices.

Keter contended that the current government’s actions are aimed at silencing those who have been vocal about the country’s pressing issues.

“We know the issue is because we have raised concerns about many Kenyans on the Finance Bill, the cost of living, and the many promises they made. We didn’t force them to make the promises. The problem with them is that they always lie. Even yesterday, the president lied like 100 times, including about a child who was shot 8 times, and he was telling Kenyans he is not aware whether the child is still living or not,” Keter declared.
