The Tricient School of Medical Health Sciences has officially announced new admissions for its Mortuary Attendant Certificate Course, opening up opportunities for Kenyans interested in pursuing a career in mortuary and funeral services.

The course is designed to equip learners with essential skills in body preservation, hygiene, embalming, and proper handling of the deceased, combining both theoretical knowledge and hands-on training.

According to the institution, applicants must have at least a KCSE mean grade of D plain and must be willing to work in emotionally sensitive environments with professionalism and compassion.

The program runs for a period of six months, with training offered at Tricient’s Nairobi campus.

Learners will cover key modules including anatomy and physiology, mortuary operations, health and safety, infection control, and basic counseling. Practical training will be conducted in partnership with certified morgues and funeral homes to ensure real-world experience.

Tricient School of Medical Health Sciences emphasized that the program is part of its mission to address the shortage of skilled mortuary personnel in Kenya’s health and funeral sectors.

The school aims to produce well-trained attendants who meet both local and international standards of care and professionalism.

Upon completion, graduates can expect to earn between Ksh 15,000 and Ksh 30,000 per month depending on whether they work in public hospitals, county health facilities, private funeral homes, or religious institutions. Those who gain additional experience or specialize further could earn up to Ksh 50,000 per month.

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply early due to the limited number of available slots. Registration is currently ongoing, and application forms can be obtained directly from any of the Tricient School of Medical Health Sciences campuses listed below:
