Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has addressed the recent statement from sanitary products maker Kotex Kenya, which refuted her claims that her team was in talks with the company for a potential partnership.

On Sunday, June 30, Kotex Kenya released a statement clarifying that no discussions had taken place with Senator Nyamu, labeling the politician’s assertions as false.

“Any assertions regarding a prospective partnership involving Kotex are entirely false. Our commitment remains steadfast in championing women’s progress for all Kenyans,” the company stated.

“We emphasize that Kotex does not engage in any political affiliations or endorsements. We maintain our dedication to transparency and accuracy in all communications.”

The statement from Kotex came in response to Senator Nyamu’s earlier claims that her team was in discussions with the company for a potential partnership.

The company felt compelled to clarify their position, stressing their commitment to remaining apolitical and transparent.

In a rebuttal, Senator Nyamu defended her foundation’s efforts, highlighting its dedication to supporting vulnerable girls across Kenya. She urged the public to focus on the positive impact of her foundation’s initiatives rather than her political affiliations.

“You don’t have to agree with my political affiliation, but you can appreciate this noble cause my foundation has taken up to expose our girls to alternative feminine hygiene products like tampons and period cups,” Nyamu stated.

Senator Nyamu’s foundation has been involved in various initiatives aimed at improving the lives of underprivileged girls by providing them with access to sanitary products and hygiene education.

She emphasized that her work is driven by a desire to make a tangible difference in the lives of young girls, regardless of her political stance.
