Homa Bay’s Kaluma: DNA Tests for My Children If They Miss Anti-Finance Bill Demonstrations

Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma has announced that he will conduct DNA tests on any of his children who do not participate in protests against the Finance Bill.

Kaluma emphasized the need to stand against excessive taxation and government corruption.

In a post on X, Kaluma stressed that the youth of Kenya must unite to achieve what the previous generation could not.

“Any of my children who do not join other Kenyan children in the streets this Tuesday to protest excessive taxation and government corruption will face a DNA test! The children of Kenya must walk together to succeed where we failed,” the MP said.

His comments come ahead of the planned youth protests nationwide on Tuesday.

The protests are scheduled to continue this week, with a climax planned for Thursday.

Last week, Kenya’s Generation Z organized nationwide protests against the Finance Bill 2024, calling for its rejection.

The protests started in Nairobi on Tuesday and spread to Mombasa on Wednesday.

Despite the widespread protests, 204 MPs voted in support of the bill, while 105 opposed it.
