From the Streets of Nairobi to Building One of Kenya’s Thriving Study Abroad Agencies: The Inspiring Story of Innocent Paluget

In Eldoret, a town where fraudulent travel agencies have swindled desperate Kenyans out of millions with false promises of jobs abroad, one agency is rewriting the narrative.

Oneteam Career Coaches, founded by Innocent Kipkemboi Paluget, has emerged as a trusted and credible organization that genuinely helps students secure study opportunities overseas.

Unlike the many con artists who take advantage of people’s dreams, Paluget has built a reputation rooted in integrity, professionalism, and a sincere desire to change lives.

Humble Beginnings in Cherang’any

Born and raised in Kipkeikei village, Cherang’any, Trans Nzoia County, Innocent Paluget’s childhood was anything but easy.

Raised by a single mother, who was a primary school teacher, he experienced the challenges of constant school transfers due to his mother’s job postings.

“I attended seven different primary schools before finally sitting for my KCPE at Kipkeikei Primary. I later joined Kipkeikei Secondary School, a day school, for my high school education,” he recalls.

Despite facing financial struggles, Paluget remained focused on his studies, understanding that education was his key to a better future.

After high school, he pursued a KNEC Diploma in Business Management at a college in Eldoret before advancing to St. Paul’s University, where he obtained both a Diploma and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Media and Communication.

Dreams of a Music Career That Never Took Off

Like many young people with big dreams, Paluget initially aspired to be a musician. However, life had other plans.

“When I lost my mother, things became incredibly difficult. I found myself homeless on the streets of Eldoret and Nairobi, struggling to survive. Music became my refuge, and for seven years, I gave it my all, but the industry was not easy to penetrate,” he recalls.

Facing multiple rejections and the harsh realities of the music industry, Paluget eventually tried other ventures. He launched Zion Media Empire (ZME), a music production company, but it failed.

He also experimented with opening a shop, a PlayStation center, and a barbershop, yet none of these businesses succeeded.

“I failed over and over, but I refused to let failure define me,” he says, reflecting on his resilience and determination.

A Life-Changing Decision: Moving Abroad

After years of struggling, Paluget took a bold step—he traveled to the UK in search of a fresh start. There, he worked various jobs and traveled across Europe, where he discovered an important truth: there are immense opportunities beyond Kenya’s borders.

“Living abroad changed my perspective. I saw firsthand how education and work opportunities could transform lives. That’s when the idea for Oneteam Career Coaches was born,” he explains.

Building Oneteam Career Coaches

Oneteam Career Coaches was established with one goal in mind—to help students access study opportunities abroad.

“We link students to schools worldwide and prepare them for the transition. Apart from placement, we also offer: ✅ Foreign language training – German, Arabic, French ✅ IELTS exam preparation ✅ Caregiving courses

Our goal is to empower individuals through education and global exposure,” Paluget explains.

The agency has quickly grown, with branches in Eldoret and Kericho, helping hundreds of students realize their dreams of studying and working abroad.

Introducing Majuu Sacco

While running Oneteam Career Coaches, Paluget realized a major challenge faced by many families—parents were selling their properties to finance their children’s education abroad. Some governments require bank statements of up to Ksh. 6 million for student visa applications.

To address this, he introduced the Majuu Sacco, an initiative designed to:

✔ Provide financial support and loans for students ✔ Offer credible bank statements for visa applications ✔ Help Kenyans abroad save their money securely back home

“The Sacco is up and running,” says Paluget.

Vision for the Future

Paluget is driven by a deep passion for education and empowerment.

“Every time we send off a student to study abroad, I feel an overwhelming sense of fulfillment. Seeing hope and happiness in parents’ eyes reminds me why I started this journey,” he shares.

His vision is to expand Oneteam Career Coaches beyond Kenya and continue changing lives through education, providing countless opportunities for students to thrive globally.
