In a dramatic turn of events, Kisumu-based pastor Maureen Lihanda reportedly stormed her son-in-law’s home, removing all the belongings her daughter had bought before disappearing without a trace.
The son-in-law, Odongo Otieno, a well-known Kisumu journalist and former MCA candidate for Nyalenda Ward, has recently been at odds with Lihanda’s daughter, Sally Njoki, following a bitter dispute.
CCTV footage shared widely on social media shows Pastor Lihanda, accompanied by her daughter and several associates, arriving at Odongo’s house late at night. The video captures the group forcibly entering the home and packing up various household items believed to belong to Sally, leaving Odongo’s home empty.
Despite the uproar, Pastor Lihanda has taken to social media to challenge the narrative. She insists that Odongo Otieno was present during the incident and disputes many of the claims made against her family.
In several posts, she accused Odongo of being a “betting addict” who neglects basic responsibilities like paying rent and buying food. She claimed he has repeatedly contacted her via messages and video calls and accused him of trying to “reap where he did not sow.”
Sources close to the family say Pastor Lihanda justified her actions by accusing Odongo of heavy drinking, chronic gambling, and failing to provide for his household.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to establish the full facts and determine whether any laws were broken.
