Drama in Malindi as Machakos MCAs Fight Over Lady MCA

A dramatic altercation unfolded during a bonding retreat in Malindi after two Machakos Members of County Assembly (MCAs) clashed over a nominated female colleague.

The incident, which took place at a popular resort, has raised questions about the conduct and discipline of elected leaders.

According to sources present, the tension began when the two male MCAs—identified as Kyevuo and Mwangangi—engaged in a heated exchange of words over Purity, a nominated female MCA.

Witnesses claimed that one of the men had openly declared interest in Purity but became enraged upon discovering her close relationship with the other.

The confrontation nearly turned physical before fellow MCAs intervened and managed to de-escalate the situation.

“The environment became extremely tense,” said a source who witnessed the incident. “Some MCAs even contemplated walking out of the retreat. It was only after the intervention of the Assembly leadership that calm was restored.”

The retreat, organized by the Machakos County Assembly, was meant to promote unity, collaboration, and better working relationships among the members.

However, the altercation overshadowed the intended purpose and has instead attracted public criticism.

Fellow MCAs have expressed concern about the behaviour of the trio, stating that their conduct was not only unprofessional but also damaging to the image of the County Assembly.

“This is not what we expect from honourable members. Their actions have embarrassed us,” one MCA said on condition of anonymity.

There are now growing calls for disciplinary action to be taken against the involved parties. The Assembly leadership is reportedly reviewing the incident, although none of the three MCAs could be reached for comment as their phones remained unanswered.
