Kenya’s Vihiga Queens lost 4-2 to Ethiopian Bank at the Nyayo national stadium to leave the quest of gracing the Africa Women’s champions league tournament to be hosted in Egypt hanging by the thread.
Medina Awuol gave the Ethiopian based side club the lead in the 8th minute before Maureen Achieng hauled Kenyan side even in the 12th minute but Medina Awuol restored the visitors lead.
Maureen Achieng levelled again in the 42nd minute before Medina Auwol bagged her third goal to put Ethiopian Bank ahead with a deflected strike from outside the area.
Loza Abera gave her side a two goal cushion in what turned out to be the winner.
The outcome means Vihiga Queens must garner maximum points in the two left matches against yei Joint Fc of South sudan and New generation and hope that the other matches go it’s way to have the remote possibility of making it to the showpiece.
Bank of Ethiopia top the group on 3 points,Yei Joint Fc second on 3 points with goal difference separating the two side, Vihiga Queens and new generation are 3rd and 4th respectively without a point.
Vihiga Queens return to action on Wednesday against yei who won 2-1 earlier on Sunday against New generation.
