Nairobi City Stars on standby to replace departed players.

Nairobi City Stars club Chief executive Patrick Korir claims the club will be ready to replace the departed players in the current Kenya Football Federation Premier league transfer window.

Attacking Midfielder Azizi Okaka, Wesley Onguso, Bolton Omwenga and Yusuf Lubowa have departed the club.

Korir says they are in the process of finding their replacement to bolster the squad as they aim for a top four finish when they new season begins.

“We are working on finding new players that will not only replace them but but also improve us as a team,” Said Korir as quoted by Citizen digital.

“We understand next season will be tough but we are up for the task. Our primary objective will be to finish higher than last season and also apply the experience from last season to Excel,”

He expressed his thanks to the departing players for their efforts in helping to build the club from the Nation Super league in the 2019/2020 season and a successful 2020/2021 campaign.

“We thank Onguso, Aziz, and Lubowa for the service rendered to the Nairobi City Stars club, for their commitment to the club in the ended year that had great challenges of its own,”

“I cannot thank Onguso and Okaka enough for all their professionalism and dedication that led the Club back to the top tier after four seasons, and Lubowa who added punch to the squad elevation.”

The three veterans Wesley Onguso, Ugandan defender Yusuf Mukisa Lubowe and former AFC Leopards winger Aziz Okaka joined City Stars two years ago.
